Our Philosophy and Values
Here are some things our experience has taught us to believe:
- View the organization from the CEO's viewpoint. He or she owns the bat and ball and makes the rules!
- The CEO drives and determines the organization's culture. He or she may choose to examine and understand it, or ignore it as intangible, "touchy feely" stuff. But it exists anyway, and we can find opportunities to shape culture and improve organizational functioning.
- No one else's solutions will work here; you're unique; solutions need to connect to your current "culture" and put the organization on a better path toward achieving its potential.
- Employees come to work every day with the desire and intention to do a good job. They need and seek clarity about what that means for them and feedback about how they're doing.
- Managers, employees, customers, and often vendors and advisors know the organization well. It's important and valuable, therefore, to tap into their perceptions and ideas through confidential conversations.
- Any change must be embraced, enhanced, implemented and managed by those affected. Change mandated from the CEO (or even worse a consultant!) will likely fail.
- Incentives are powerful; they work! If designed and implemented well, they help.
- Strengthen the organization's business planning process
- Focus individual and team effort and produce or exceed desired results
- Improve vertical and lateral communications
- Generate excitement about what's possible
